my friend is really worried as their company is going bankrupt. someone said she will need to pay �5000 + VAT to go bang but she hasnt got it. how can you go bang if you cant pay to do it? i thought it was only about �180 but maybe that is if its yourself not a company. any advice more than welcome!

You do not have to pay to make a company bankrupt, this is only if the company wish to do it on a voluntary basis.
If the company has no money, it must cease trading, but just wait for a creditor to make a winding up order on the company, and the official receiver (a government dept) will do the rest.
