My partner works varied hours each week and earns appox £600 a month.
I work 16 hotrs a week and get £486 a month.
I also get child tax credit and working tax credit to the value of £130 each week.
Plus child benefit of £20 a week.

If i put my daughter in childcare for 16 hours a week at £4 an hour, will I get the extra element of childcare or will it automatically be taken off my tac credits. I don't mind either way, just want to know how it would work for me..

I'M GETTING PREPARED FOR THE ABUSE TO COME, SO THANKS IN ADVANCE TO THE PEOPLE WHO ANSWER NICELY ;-)

http://taxcredits.hmrc.gov.uk/HomeNew.aspx put in the new details here to get an idea. The tax credits pay UP TO 80% of your childcare but theres no guessing as to how much they would pay you
