Hi

I'm with the halifax and don't get charged if i go into my overdraft. Just had a letter today and it said that if i go into my overdraft from december it'll be charged at £1 per day and if its over £2500 the it would be £2 per day

I have friends who are with the halifax and we've often found it strange how some of us did get charged for the overdraft and others didn't. I do get a small charge of about 0.03p coming off my account once a month for going into my overdraft but thats hardly a charge

Does every bank now charge? Thinking of changing banks

I'd just received a letter the other day saying they were increasing my overdraft!!

It depends entirely on your personal circumstances and what you are able to negotiate.
My bank provides me a 'free' overdraft of up to £250 and an overdraft limit of £500.
I use the former but not the latter and don't pay any charges.
I'm with Natwest, and don't pay a charge for overdrawing within an agreed limit (£3000).

However I think they charge a stonking interest rate if I do.
