If someone wins a competition prize and the organisers of that competition fail to hand over the prize, is there some kind of governing body you can turn to?

There is no compulsory governing body for organisers to belong to.

Small claims court?
Trading Standards in the area where the offices of the organisers' offices are located?
You could always hint to the organisers that unless they stump up the prize you will be contacting a national paper...
What happens if my prize doesn�t turn up?
If the prize hasn't arrived , get in touch with the company offering the prize.

If you still get no response from them, there are a few different things you can try.

The Institute of Sales Promotions [email protected] lay down the guidelines which comp organisors must follow. It is reported that they are very good at investigating dodgy comps & missing prizes.

The Advertising Standards Authority have an online complaints form.

I 'borrowed' this information from another website - I hope that you manage to chase up the prize.

Some prizes actually take months to arrive and some actually arrive before your letter notifying you that you have won a prize.
