Just wondering how much this would cost for a year for a small decorating business.

I can't really give you an idea of what the premium would be as it could range from �100 - �2000 depending on the number of jobs you do, what sum insured you want etc etc etc.  Your best bet is to ring up an insurance broker as they will use numerous companies to get you the cheapest deal.
I'm paying a shade under �90 for �1M cover for a one-man-band IT training business. Yours will be more because you can do more damage to life, limb and property with your equipment and materials than I can with my dry-wipe pens.
