Converting US dollars to Sterling....Please help

I have been given a wedding present of 1,000 US Dollars in cash and I need to convert it. Where can I find the best exchange rate? or can I convert it to another currency and then into ����'s.

Getting the best rate is a question of "shopping around". The best rate today might not be the best rate tomorrow.

You certainly don't want to convert it into something else and then into ������, Doing that would involve two lots of exchange commission, and you end up with fewer �������.

My understanding (or lack of) is that the � is weak against the $ at the mo so change into sterling

The Euro is quite strong. Or open an Irish bank account with it - they seem to hold up best with interest rates at present.

Are you in Lancs - just curious re the name?
