does anybody know if we can claim back bank charges yet and if not when is the dispute going to be settled?

No you can't.
All that's happened so far is the courts have ruled that the banks terms and conditions in respect of charges are subject to the Unfair Contract Terms Acts, not that they are unfair.
Now the Office of Fair Trading is testing whether or not the charges are fair, but the banks have been given leave to appeal the courts decision. ~That appeal was heard in court and the hearing ended in November.
It will be months before we ge the decision of the appeal, and then OFT will decide whether the charges are fair or not.
So a long way to go yet.
