I am interested in the Nationwide debit card for the purpose of taking money out abroad when on holiday, however one of the stipulations of opening an account with them is:

I will pay 100 into my account when I receive my card.

Regarding the sum of 100, can I take it out of the account once paid in, without problems?

So whats the point of them asking for 100 minimum deposit?
It must be a new thing, as I have had one for a few years and never had to do that.

Mind you, nice not to be charged taking money out abroad.
I am looking at the site now - you have to choose ONE of the options:

Pay 100 in when I receive the card
Use as main current account
Open a savings account

I don't know why they want 100 but there is no requirement to maintain a minimum balance.

You could phone them and ask them
I have a no fuss flexi account filthiestfis.
