I work for a very large advertising organisation and my customers have mixed views, some are stopping advertising altogether, some taking larger adverts and some maintaining their spend, what are your thoughts?

With more than a million about to lose their jobs, the country deeply in debt, housing values reduced by 10 to 20%, negative equity and house repossessions I suppose there maybe a little hiccup. MPs though will be cushioned when they lose their seats at the next general election as they will get a pay off to help them through harder times.
What I still can't fathom out is why people still have their heads in the sand about the general state of the economy, it's totally ********. To me thats been obvious for some time.

Unfortunately the government/BOE (government puppet) didn't take the action necessary when the pain of dealing with it would have been much more reduced. Now we will have to do go through much bigger pain to get through it.

The bad times are not even started, plenty more problems to come.
.......but at least we've got Gordon Brown at the helm to steer us through the difficult times.
Gordon Brown at the helm - that's exactly what we're all afraid of. Frankly I'd rather have a berth on the Titanic!

Thankyou for your replies all of them but more so the serious ones, some of my customers are having to take part time work to assist in running their own businesses more so tradespeople, however some tell me they are busier than ever. In advertising sometimes its hard to know who is telling the truth and who isnt. We all know when in the last recession Access our flexible friend (credit card) stoped advertising and the like of other credit cards kept advertising Access vanished, similar to Smiths crisps who also did the same and they are also none existant, maybe this should be posted on a new thread but do you guys believe in a recession you need to advertise to keep your business afloat if not why and if so why. Thanks
