If the end goal is the same, then the British and French will get along fine. History has shown that we can be on the same side if it suits us both. Brown (for the moment) is unwilling to follow Blairs' subservient relationship with Washington, so the french are an ideal equal partner within the EU.
His wife is stunning.

There...I've said it.
Been reading the Sun sp, great picture of her starkers in there.

Unlikely we will ever see eye to eye either. Personally I buy nothing French knowingly.
hope we become closer to france and the rest of europe and distance ourselves more from usa
I cannot for the life of me see what she found in him *shudder*.

You won't be going on holiday in an Airbus then. Just have to go to Center Parcs instead.
-- answer removed --
Can't afford to go on holiday mate. McBottle has seen to that. Can't affor Centre Parcs either.

Airbus of course is made by a number of countries and the lot assembled in Toulouse. If I ever go on an airbus then I'll just have to make sure I sit in a non french part then wont I.

You actually dont seem to erad my posts fully. I did qualify the statement with 'if I can help it' I beleive.

The French dislike buying our products so why should I buy theirs. Have adopted this policy since they burnt our lamb.

I'm with perigra on this one too. I feel no affinity to the States at all. I am British and European. The French and the British are not unalike at all.
Center Parcs is also French owned. The chances are, that your water supply is partly french owned as well. They also own EDF which is one of the UKs biggest electricity suppliers.

I'm going solely on the picture in Loosehead's link. She appears to be a very good looking lady and I have no wish to see her with her kit off (obviously).

Also with regards to Sarkozy's looks - I would draw your attention to the fact that there isn't a single famous couple in the entire world where the male partner is better looking than the female partner.

I challenge you to prove me wrong.

(Oh - except Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz).

It's so much easier to unite the English to Hate than to like and co-operate. Why ?

The whole lamb thing mentioned by YMB illustrates perfectly why we are so different.

Both countries it is illegal to hijack trucks and burn their contents at the roadside. It's the reaction of the authorities that sets us aside. In UK the police would arrest and change the purpetrators, in France they stand and watch.

Nope, I have to fully agree with you there SP.

More police arresting fuel blockade purpertrators....NOT!
Question Author
yes, where where they burning the contents of the vehicles they stopped?
Was it legal? No

Did the police arrest them? No

Correct me if I'm wrong but I dont think you have to be burning something to be arrested?

If you or I were to go and blockade a road or site this afternoon we'd be arrested just as the French Police would arrest someone on his own that set fire to a British lorry in Calais this afternoon.

When feelings are enraged and there are a lot of people about police often take a softly softly approach

On both sides of the channel!
