I am self employed (sole trader), and I use my credit card for most of my expenses, as it is convenient and helps to spread the cost over the year. How would using my bank overdraft compare. Overdrafts have been something have always avoided in the past.

Overdraft. Take cash on your credit card you'll be paying through the nose forever.
Just compare the interest rates.

An overdraft is usually much much cheaper - provided it is an authorised overdraft, of course.
