Shift Workers and the Clock Change

Does anyone know what happens when someone is working a night shift , i.e. 10 p m- 6 a m when the clocks alter. What happens to the hour which is " gained" or "lost"?. Many Thanks. Eric.

In the factory i worked in, where weekends were staffed (don't forget it happens early on a sunday morning) the workers started and finished as normal. It was 'swings and roundabouts' as once a year they had to work an extra hour, and once a year they had to work an hour less. Wasn't any great hassle.
My brother is a policeman and if he's working nights when the clocks go back he gets paid an hours overtime.
