we are a little late on are VAT bill by 2 weeks will i be able to drag it out to the end on this month,? it was due at the start of theis month.

Always pay the vat on time, tax and ni can wait sometimes. I would expect you to get fined.

really a fine about 3-4 weeks late
If this is your first default in not meeting the due date for VAT payment you would normally receive an SLN (Surcharge Liability Notice). Any further defaults within the next year will incur a penalty. However, small businesses will receive a letter after a first default instead of an SLN. A second default then starts the SLN procedure.
