bit of help, if a person has cheques written out to them in there name, but do no own a bank account can this person sign the back of the cheque andpay it in to someone elses account e.g. a family member if not is there an alternative?

If the cheque is crossed 'A/C Payee Only' (which most of them are these days) the no, it can't be signed on the back.

The alternative would be to ask the person that issued the cheque to issue another one made out to someone else.

You could cash it at one of those cheque changing places but they charge a fortune in commission.
