Is there any way you can remove a non consenting ex from a mortgage? My partner ex refuses to take her name off the mortgage and i believe she is still refusing to be paid off. Is there anything that can be done?

Pay off the mortgage and get another one in your own name.

Getting her name off the house ownership records will be more difficult though. Is that what you are really asking?

Yes i think so. We dont want her to have any thing to do with the house.
See a solicitor and get them to make an offer on her part of the property. If she refuses then force a sale and pay her out. It is costly for both parties but if she is not playing ball it is your only option. The house will go on the open market and you can then buy her out.
Careful! Does she still live in the house in question??

no he lives in the house
That works to your advantage as removing a 'tenant' could make life awkward.

As Mrs Pegasus says, go to a solicitor and make her an offer. If she refuses to play ball, assuming the offer is fair, you can force the sale (but I don't think you have to put the house on the market).

Ring around the soliticors and see if you can get one to give you the first half hour free.

Just a solicitors letter might prompt his ex to sit up and negotiate - but if she's anything like my ex, be prepared for a fight.
Is there any way you can talk to your mortgagees? They must have had quite a few people in this situation and may be they can give you some advice?
