I have recently been told by my employer that 'my services are no longer required'. I was employed 3 weeks ago as a PA and now the company has decided they dont need one anymore. They asked my to send an Invoice for my work to date as they have not registered me for PAYE. I have done this and not heard anything for over a week. I was never given a contract as they always stated they were too busy to prepare one and would do it next week!

Do I have any way of forcing payment?

Sorry, I'm not 100% clear on this - you worked for a company for 3 weeks and then they let you go, this was a week ago, is that right?

When should you have been paid if you were still employed by them? At the end of March?

If you've now put in an invoice many companies will only pay this 30 days after the end of the month that it's submitted. Ideally you should have put a date on the invoice that you wanted to be paid by.

You did actually have a contract with them, albeit an oral one plus whatever was written in any letter confirming your appointment.

Did you also claim in your invoice for your notice period, probably a week?

Personally I'd start ringing them up and asking them to sort it out asap.
Why would any employer want you to send them an invoice? Are they trying to claim that they have never employed you, but are just paying for services provided by someone who is self employed or a company? Were you given a formal job offer by way of a letter or was this all done verbally. I think whatever has happened they are in the wrong. I would not accept payment by invoice as you will have to deal with all the tax implications that arises from this. You should be paid as per a company employee.
