Use an exfoliator once a week to remove dead skin cells. Don't use soap to wash with-use a nice gentle facial wash (I'm sure there are lots for men these days!) And use a moisturiser like E45 (or Diprobase if it's really bad). I personally would not go putting oils on my face. BTW. I don't necessarily think washing your face everyday is right either!
You need to exfoliate your skin very gently once a week, (buy a gentle exfoliator) and use a good moisturising face cream morning and night. DO NOT USE SOAP!!! It is very drying and too harsh for your dry, sensitive skin. Also, steer clear from aroma thereapy oils on your face as the fragrant oils will be much too harsh for you skin and make the dryness worse. Try Garnier Soft 24hr Nourishin Day Cream, about 5.99 a pot. Dont bother with using male specific products, they use the same recipe but are expensive and sometimes are quite harsh, containing fragrances and generally not doing much for your skin. If you do want male specific then try Nivea Sensitive for men face cream, or use E45 moisturising face cream.

You say that its happened over the last few months?and for your skin to flake like that suggests that you may be going through a period of stress which does cause dry flaking skin and loss of radiance ect. You also need to drink plenty of water to ensure that your skin is hydrated from within, and take a skin vitamin supplement which you can get from all high street chemists or holland and barrett, for around 7-10, both vitamin based and herbal based. Also remember to eat well an incude iron in your diet , which comes from green veg, lean red meat and pulses.
