I have just excercised a saye option which I have held for 7 years and will be able to sell the shares shortly. From the calculation I have made the gain on these shares since they were granted will incur CGT. I am having difficulty in confirming whether these shares are subject to taper relief since they were granted 7 years ago or now when I excercise the option. I am still employed by the company and they are an approved employer on the ftse 100. Any help would be much appreciated.
