My friend is an aromatherapist and she is owed 60 by a woman who owes her for one session of therapy (where her cheque bounced) and one missed session. She appears well off and could pay - she signed to say she would pay for any missed sessions where she failed to give notice of her non-attendance. Could my friend sell this debt to a recovery agency and if so how much would she get? Thank you.

Before she does anything else, has she invoiced the client at least twice?

That is the first step, followed a month later by a firmer letter stating that if the bill is not paid within a certain time steps will be taken to recover the money.

No need for a hammer to crack a peanut at this stage.
