Does anyone know of any reputable banks/building societies or other companies that offer self-cert mortgages? My boyfriend and I have a substantial deposit but I am finding it difficult to find out more information giving actual names of lenders that offer them.

Any mortgage broker can find you a self cert deal. Banks dont generally do self cert mortgages out of their high street branches - but a broker will be able to offer you a self cert deal from a reputable bank.

There are usually no fees as the broker gets commission from the lender, but I would suggest you go to a decent broker so that he/she doesnt just offer you the deal that would give them the most commission.

End of the day if you have at least 15% of the purchase price as a deposit and a good credit history - i dont see any problem..

Let me know if anything is unclear
