Im classed as insolvent and have defaults but i would like to take a job as a mortgage broker, would i be able to do this under my current circumstances?
I was suppossed to have an IVA back in 2002, but i didnt go ahead with it, but its still on m,y credit file as unsatisfied, so will it affect me going for this kind of job?

I work at an IFA and there is a "fit and proper" test (I assume as mortgages are now regulated this is the same) and from my understanding it would be difficult to class someone with defaults and insolvency as "fit and proper", especially if they are advising on mortgages.

thanks for your reply... so really its a no go then? is there anyway around this?
I worked in a building society as a mortgage advisor and all advisors had an annual credit check done on them. I think their reasoning behind it is if you are going to give advice to people regarding their finances you need to be able to manage your own before being allowed to give good advice to others.
