should have said cheque was for 500
Have you cancelled the order? Is the company aware that you have cancelled the cheque?

They will be told the cheque has been cancelled - if you have not informed them you may be in breach of contract.
The payee will pay the cheque into their account as normal and then a few days latter it will 'bounce' and they will have the cheque returned to them by their bank with the reason 'Payment Stopped' or 'Paymnt Coutermanded By order of Drawer'.
