On a website it tells me the price of properties per square foot. For example, one property is 554 sq ft, and 10.32 per sqf, therefore, 5717.28. Is this per year to rent? It is short term lease...

Commercial property is generally quoted in a price per square metre of floorspace leased. Make sure you understand what this includes though, in terms of possible liability for external maintenance, and what general services are provided into the building for this price. The price will of course vary according to the length of lease you decide to commit to.
