What is the likely share price for standard life going to be IF it floats later this year? Is there a ballpark figure, or is there some complicated rules that mean it cannot be predicted?

My family have been told we're getting 500. It all depends on what type of "account" you have with them.
Prospectus sent out this week indicates a float price between 2.40 and 2.90 per share. My wife has been allocated 536 shares as she has had a pension plan with them for around 15 or so years.

Press comment in the week-end Money media section seems to be recommending holding onto the shares for the time being as after a year bonus shares may be allocated in proportion to those you hold. Also there is some press speculation that after flotation Standard Life will be subject to one or more possible takeover bids which would increase the share price.
