Heres hoping.
Im in mid of buying home, lawyer etc ready to close deal but wants me back home to personally sign contract though im stuck abroad.
Anyway was going to offer a 10% reduction on price hoping vendor will take it.
Zoopla prediction prices could crash 13%.... i think maybe more as many many people losing jobs and these days are just far too uncertain. Maybe a 2nd wave ?
We are going into a depression not a recession.
Vendor has been waiting to sell this place since 1st feb or before, im cash buyer....
What do you think

No I think I'll leave it there. I think pumpjack has the answer to his questions, kind of, but if not I'm sure he will get back to the thread.
No of course you won't. Any more than you can admit you are wrong.
I didn’t make anything ‘personal’. I merely pointed out where you were wrong.
The information I've given to Pumpjack is not wrong. This is a serious category and there is no place for personal animosity. I've addressed his question on the possibility of dropping his offer and advised on the consequences. I've made an extra comment that normally one does not have to be present to Exchange contracts ( though wet signatures are required for all land Registry transfers). This advice is correct and easily checked.
AuntPollyGrey: you stated ‘Solicitors don't email out the Contract, they always post it’ which both myself and Gness pointed out was wrong. This has a bearing on your advice as a whole which means you were ill-advising pumpjack on what to do in the current circumstances.
What you are all forgetting is that this is Northern Ireland not England or Ireland we do things differently here.

How? He stated HIS solicitor wanted HIM back in the UK to sign the Contract
I advised that this is not normally necessary ( true) which everyone, including you, agree with.

He asked for opinions on dropping the price he had offered. I offered my advice which is of course subjective and pumpjack is totally within his right to ignore it.

Pumpjack did not ask any questions about contracts being sent out by email so how I could have 'ill-advised him' I have no idea.

and finally frankly I had no idea you were so passionate about Estate Agency Zac lol!

Main thing is, situation hass got much worse.
Many unemployed, maybe we will go into a depression...certainly a recession 100%.
I for one think house prices will fall, but how much.
Maybe i should hold off a while, 6 months maybe.....
Maybe likely a second wave which could spell catasrophe
Don't get your knickers in a twist?

Thank you for your answers and trying to help you would have been polite.
