i sent money to dva for replacement licence months ago. nothing has came. dva say i should take it up with royal mail as they sent it out 2nd class post 2 months ago. they really should have sent it as signed for or with tracking number.

i feel dva is at fault. how can i get refund or a licence now.

The DVLA should take it up with Royal Mail. They obviously received your payment and as the sender it is their responsibility not yours.

It's normally the responsibility of the poster to chase missing items.
Did you send a cheque, or cash? If it was cash then it will only have been covered if you sent it special delivery, not second class mail. If it was a cheque can you not stop the cheque and send another one?

update. i went to post office, they confirmed it is the responsibilty of the sender to ensure that any post gets to the said destination.

i had a very serious conversation again with the supervisor at dva where she slammed the phone down on me. i would of thought that she would of known instantly that it was the fault of dva to replace my licence and not try to wriggle out of it.
But did you notify them after four weeks that you hadn't received it and then go back to them again within the eight week limit?
