A family member has been offered a job with Virgin Atlantic , as a flight attendant .
She is wondering what the word on the street is as regards to the short term future of the business , in terms of whether there are any plans to sell the company and what that would mean to staff employed .

She has heard that there is talk that Richard Branson might be considering selling his stake in the airline .

Anyone in the know or can advise ?

Even if it was sold it would still need its employees.
the BA boss Willie Walsh says Virgin will vanish within five years as Delta have bid for it, but he would say that, wouldn't he. Branson says he'll pay Walsh £1m if it happens. I think it'll be around a while yet.

As sandy says, evne if it's taken over by Air Rwanda, it'll still need flight attendants.
If she wants to be a flight attendant why on earth isn't she jumping for joy and saying yes. One of the most prestigious to work for and even if they disappear that will be excellent on her CV to move to another airline. Apart from that lots of flight attendants have moved on after 5 years anyway, even if it's for a maternity break. Lucky girl.
