I have a pension with a company that I left 17 years ago but I have always made sure they know my current address etc. My last contact with them was in mid 2010. This week I get a letter out of the blue from Tracesmart, it looked official and even had the logo of the company I worked for on the page too. They claim the company I worked for has lost contact and are trying to trace me. I find that hard to believe as I have correspondence from them from less than 2 years ago and I have not moved in the interim. They are asking for current and previous addresses, phone number and some digits of my NI number. Has anyone had any experience with this? I will be contacting the company I worked for direct but I wondered if this is just me being over cautious or is there some sort if obscure scam taking place here? any info would be welcome, thanks

If it is this lot, redgrant, they appear to be a legitimate company.

If in doubt, I might be inclined to contact your ex-employer and ask them if they are using tracesmart.

yes LG I'll do that.
Stick to the actual company, don't like the sound of tracesmart.

I have now contacted the original company and they said they do employ tracesmart but this was a mistake, they have my details apparently!
