Those caring people at The Daily Mail are now trying to peddle a story that "Jeremy Clarkson may be "sick in the head" in order to garner sympathy to counter the uproar caused by his recent offensive remarks.

You"ll get absolutely none from me...in fact,I hope that it is nothing trivial Jeremy..<joking>...not really!! ;)

I agree with you atrollope. This oik seems only to appeal to chav types and people of a very low IQ. He's entitled to free speech but he doen't seem to think that freedom of speech and action applies to anyone other than himself. How long can the BBC et al keep on defending this piece of doo doo I wonder?

Clarkson and his boorish Home Counties fan club...In a nutshell !
If it was only home counties types watching top gear, he and the programme wouldn't have lasted this long. Open house on Clarkson, slow news week more like. You may not like him, and many don't, but if many actually listen to what he says, and like the interview on the One Show, he says what many people think, but won't say. I don't like or dislike him, but his more recent so called faux pas, about people who commit suicide by throwing themselves under a train was quite correct, if one reads the whole piece, not just the salacious bit

that"ll be the "Johnny Suicides" ,and he said some of their remains be left for "foxy woxy" to enjoy....This is Comedy Gold...Oh,I fear my sides may burst.
one answer don't watch when he is on, or read anything more on the man, and yes some of his comments are crass and insensitive, but so are many so called comedians, who make jokes about disabled people, mental illness and far worse, and they have as big an audience if not more than JC

I have no interest in Clarkson, his car show,or his "Overgrown Public Schoolboy"schtick.
It so happens that I watch The One Show, sometimes. The other night his rant was to the completely wrong audience,at the wrong time.
Plus I detect the help of Tory Central Office in the script he delivered..the final flourish being Clarksons own "to Execute strikers in front of their families" -to further alienate the strikers ,in the eyes of the British public.
Question Author
For ABers who have no clue who Clarkson is....It is easy to see that he ripped off his "act" wholesale from Alan Whicker...and the "edgy" aspect from Alan Partridge...so not an original creation, which now has become "tired" and irritating in the hands of J Clarkson...He is just a Right-wing Bigot :-(

atrollope, you already posted the video, why again. You don't like him, well that's a surprise, but lots do, so guess unless he is dropped from the BBC, writing for newspapers, you are stuck with him. I find people like Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand far more offensive, and they are not even funny
I just think its his odd sense of humour - bit OTT I know but others are too, especially the modern comedians. Either you like him or you don't. People shouldn't take his remarks so literally - how many folks in this country when riled have ever said about someone maybe in the government or a boss at work - Grr I could really strangle him or her! Its just a saying. I too was really against them all going on strike, disrupting the country, and throwing their toys out of the pram just because they don't like Government decisions - we could all do that in life but don't - for instance I have many grievances, I am annoyed we OAPs have had virtually no interest on our savings for several years so having to use up our savings put aside for retirement as my company didn't have a pension scheme, am sick of seeing "layabouts" doing no work (or wanting to!) and scooping up benefits, young single mothers getting all the perks especially nice council housing, free nursery places but no free care home places, winter fuel allowance being cut, overseas aid increased (this week announcing billions to be given to India despite them having a space programme) There I've said it - we all grumble about things we would like to change but can't - we wouldn't dream of going on strike and make others suffer!
Question Author
You just dont get it do you em10..or are you being deliberately obtuse?
Whether or not I like the bloke is irrelevant.

The point is..His rant to around 6-8 million people...a lot who never watch his Car shennanigans...on a Prime time family show..were subjected to a Political attack that could easily have been concocted at Tory HQ.it belittled the Public Sector workers in the minds of viewers, and was no less than an incitement to violence
Question Author
If he had stayed with the script..to coin a "Clarkson" The Bombshell was his last sentence...It would have been slaps on the back all round at the next Cameron dinner party.
Incitement to violence. Do you really believe that?

It does appear that the most of the people calling for Clarksons desmissal (sp) from the BBC are those that simply don't like him anyway. He went on the One Show and was asked for his view. He gave two.

As Em, I also read his full article in yesterdays Sun and I agree with him. I perhaps would not have chosen the same words such as Jonny Suicide myself but I think by now people know what Clarkson is like and they will only be offended by that because they want to be.

Interestingly I was listening to the Jeremy Vine show last week and they had a union rep on talking about the Clarkson comments. She said that she wouldn't be allowed to say on air what she would like to do to jeremy clarkson when Vine interupted and said she probably could actually, so she went on to make similar comments to those that he made whilst all the time berating him for those comments. Not only completely hypocritical but I didn't see 5000 people complaining to the BBC about her - possibly because she wasn't a public figure they didn't already dislike I wonder.

This subjebt has been dragging on for a rediculous amount of time and it really is getting quite dull. Are there not more important things going on in the world?
Hear hear Evian - well said!
Question Author
stick to reading The Sun,dear
obtuse, no, and as your rant over a bloke on the telly, seems rather a fuss over nothing. An incitement to riot, not really, it's a stupid bloke, with a penchant for putting his foot in it, and having watched only a nanosecond at the first showing of the one show, i did watch the rest of the interview the following day, when it was repeated. I don't happen to agree with his shoot them comments, but then i'm not into violence, but disagreed with the strikers.
Evian, there certainly are, and well said.
"it's a stupid bloke, with a penchant for putting his foot in it" - just like the Duke of Edinburgh really then? Sometimes I think we have lost our British sense of humour ;)
atrollope, if there was ever a clarkson reply that was it, perhaps the irony is lost on you. No more on this subject from me, it's already a bore.
Yep - to insinuate we read the SUN newspaper is bringing yourself down to his level don't you think atrollope ha ha !
Question Author
The Sun and The Daily Mail do a brilliant job of Brainwashing and making their readers that bit chillier toward ordinary folk..but hey ,youve got celebs and Public School Boors to tell you whats what....Laughable..if it were funny
