Insure against what?
In my opinion no, and speaking from my experience. If your credit is lost, stolen or used fraudulently by another, the credit card company usually replaced the card, and drop the fraudulent charges.
I agree with society on that point , although I'm wondering if joe.s-b mean insurance against unemployment/sickness etc?

Thank you both. It is neither for unemployment nor sickness so in my case it is as pointless as I thought it was.
