I received 2 x 50 dollar american express gift cheques by way of compensation. I have never heard of them before but apperently I can spend them in shops here in England. Does anyone know anything about them, where I can spend them and if I can pay them into my bank account?

You can't deposit the gift cards into your bank account, but you can spend them on purchases like a credit card anywhere they take american express.

Hi,
I had to reply to this thread. Years ago I got some gift cheques and still can\'t find anywhere to take them. I now live in France and the answer is still \"no\". Think the BIG stores in London understand them better than others. I wonder if I can contact American Express and ask them for a different voucher?

I'm in central Scotland, and still have $120 in gift cheques from years ago. The nearest office that will cash them in is in Edinburgh, and I just haven't got round to travelling there yet, the train ticket would cut into the value I'd be getting anyway :\
Anyone know if there is an American Express office in Kent?
