I have bank charges totalling 60 in total. Is it worth trying to claim these back.
I have gathered all the information and know exactly how to get the ball rolling but I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has tried to claim back a small amount of money, all the examples I have found are for between 250 and 17,000 so I am not sure if I would be laughed at lol.
I know if it came to it that court could be costly but I am on benefits and have been advised that I wouldn't have to pay any fees.
What do you reckon?

On the home page you will find an article explaining how to go about reclaiming bank charges, together with template letters. You say you already know what to do so are probably in good shape but in the site chat forums you will probably come across many people who have already gone through this process. I think it is worth going ahead, even if these charges are only 60 as all the evidence is that banks are settling claims in advance of a legal ruling by the Financial Ombudsman that excessive charges are illegal.
I have just gone back and rechecked this site. If you read to the bottom of the article, there is a link to click on for Reporting Success Stories. There are lots of people who have claimed for relatively small amounts so go ahead and all power to your elbow !

Thanks for your answers guys, I will get the ball rolling.
Just to correct my earlier post, it is the Office of Fair Trading who are scrutinising the banks for their high charges, not the ombudsman, but I think if you stick to your guns and don't back down you'll get your money back.
My daughter was charged 2 x 39 for going above her 'agreed overdraft limit' (she didn;t have one!). It was the bank's fault by charging her in the first place. She claimed and got it all back, plus interest that they charged her at a later date. She has since changed banks and closed her old account. It's not the amount, it's the principle, they are unlawful charges!
