deeds and land registry

We have had our deeds for quite a few years, since the property was paid for.  Recently a friend asked us if we had registered the land, he is with the same building society as ourselves and when he recieved his deeds there was a form attached asking him to register his land as although the property was his the land was still registered to Brittania Building Society.

We had no such form on our deeds and wondered if this was a mistake.

You could check here to see who your land is registered to for a start. I bet they could also help you sort out any problem

Check your entry at the land registry, costs a couple of quid. Most property should be registered by now:

http://www.landregisteronline.gov.uk/

Once the land registry entry is correct the deeds are irrelevant since about 3 years ago.
