Every time I have remortgaged I have stayed with my lender Halifax.The. term is ending soon.Is it worth changing when cheaper lenders are at 2.29% v 2.39% of Halifax. Is it worth the hassle even with no fees involved as it involves a whole new application with new lender?

It depends how much your mortgage is. 0.1% could be quite significant if it`s a large mortgage.
If your mortgage is 100,000 and interest only then the 0.1 % saving amounts to £100 a year. This is a reasonable amount to save and I think it would be worth the hassle.
But if your mortgage is only £10000, the saving is only £10 a year

My yearly saving then would be about £50 ? (repayment mortgage)
I always thought new lender would be straightforward transfer but there seems to be too many hidden jumps and hoops
I tried N and P @ 2.84% + £295 fee and their own advisor said it was not worth the hassle to change - which seemed odd
Nice to hear of an advisor considering you the customer..now that is odd!
I wouldn't bother, with that sort of money involved.
