Would I be able to give my tax allowance to my husband if I gave up work? I´m sure I remember hearing that this was possible. Anyone wise on this one?

Put all your joint savings and investments in to your name only. At least you won't pay tax on the interest.

No This is no longer possible. It used to be the case for a short while but not now. I wish you could.

This is now only available to married couples who were born before 1935 and married before Dec 2005
