I think I read somewhere, that if the Mps are called back from their, very hard earned vacation, i/e the present situation in Syria ,they are awarded a special payment of 3,700 pounds,??? If they are notified today (Bank-Holiday} will they get double that payment?? The reason I ask is, because Hague, seems hell bent on calling them back today..

no double pay went out a few years ago but they might get time off in lieu
Its a plot to save Cameron getting even more sunburned.
no idea, but they should leave well alone, otherwise we will be seeing more of our soldiers coming home in coffins,
Perhaps the country would benefit from them having more time off?
And how much will the reservists receive if they are called up?
The government promised a vote in parliament on sending arms to Syria. Though of course I suppose if it was deemed appropriate they would not let themselves be bound by that.
Well said Emmie - couldn't agree more. Let the UN deal with it and play our part in that - but Hague seems to think there is "no doubt" they have chemical weapons ....................... sound familiar??? We were in "no doubt" what weapons of mass destruction existed too .................. we should stick to fighting our own battles!
Well, when MPs were recalled merely to "praise" Thatcher not so long ago, those coming from abroad were entitled to claim up to £3,750.00. At least this time it's for somethng important and not just a publicity stunt!
Don't worry, all those against western intervention will solve the problem, won't they?
Syria DOES have chemical weapons. The only issue is has its govt used them or its opponents.
I sincerely hope you are having a little jest!!!!!
I wonder what our response would be if China or North Korea used chemical weapons, would we then be in such a hurry to get involved?
Why the hell do they need to recall them?Have they not got internet connections? They could all be contacted by email and asked for permission to do whatever is needed.
Easy answer ~~~ call all the MP's back, put them on an aircraft drop them off in Syria and let them fight the trouble makers.
Parliament will be recalled on Thursday.
More significant is that there WILL be a vote, somewhat surprisingly.
