Onwards and Downwards Continues

The school holidays seem to bring much temptation for those with kids around.

Why not start them off right and give them the healthy snacks you are having and maybe just have one treat a day after dinner.

It is tricky to stop the little tikes sneaking the "good stuff" though.

You are an inspiration tigerblue. I know that you will reach your goal. Onwards and downwards
Hi Notafish don't despair as you have done well just set yourself to 1 really good week and you should get back there.
Jules well done and
Tigger you have really done well. It is just a matter of knowing what is best for you .
Onwards and Downwards we go.
Thank you Xstitcher and Wendilla xxx

Its been hard work but it has paid off. I just need to somehow get my mum to lose a few stone now as there is a history of type 2 diabetes in the family. Thats hard work in itself as she won't listen and has no will power.
Congrats to all those managing to achieve.

Maybe I'm just easily disheartened or something, but these last few days have been ridiculous. Yes, ok, I know I tend to ease off during the weekends, I can accept I may rise slightly over those two days, but there is a limit.

I like to weight myself each day although Sundays never seem to happen. I can understand there may be small blips and I'll take that in my stride. But apparently I underate by 17% Friday (yes not ideal) but on that day, according to the scales, I gained over 2 lbs ! In one day ! Then over the weekend I consumed 45% too much (yes I know) but the rise from that was another 1 lb ! Then to my utter amazement Monday turned out to be an excess day too, even though I swear I'd been good all day. A whole 25% too much somehow, and apparently that day I went up again, almost ¾ of a lb.

That's just under 3.5 lbs in a few days ! Something seems determined to stop me changing the 'stone' figure. I approach it and then it soars up high again. :-(
Good Morning All,
What a surprise I just had.....I have stayed the same despite a cream cake on Friday and a few other things during the week. I don't deserve it but am very glad. My daughter is making up new menus for me which I will start next Wed. I have no idea what I am letting myself in for but she assures me that I will see a great difference plus she is getting me outdoors for more walking or bicycling .......hmmmmm. Hope to hear from all you today and hope it is good news for you.
I know what you mean, O_G - I am up and down like a yoyo, OH making some yummy bacon sarnies each day last weekend seems to have added 4 lbs by Monday... however, this morning, two of them are off again. It does seem fo me so much related to my bread intake.
Went up again this morning. OK only an eighth of a pound according to the scales, but still the wrong direction. That's an increase of over three and five eighths pounds over the week. I simply can't believe it. Yes I ate more than I have been doing recently, but I'd have still expected it to reduce.

Meanwhile, congrats to xstitcher for staying the same :-D and boxtops for limiting the damage ;-)

MORNING ALL well I have stayed the same .My grandson has been here lots during the summer term. I blame him. Will get back to normal eating times next week which I know will help. Boxtops that is my downfall bread but gone to the nimble or WW bread which is nice and also french toast.
Xstitcher all that walking you did has got rid of the cream cake from sticking on your bottom.
Hi old geezer I can't calculate 1/8th of a lb on my scales .They are digital but can just register 1/4 lb.But easy to read as either jump up a lb or lose a lb lol/
I have stayed the same this week too, went out for the day on Friday last week and enjoyed afternoon tea and dinner out. Eating so much must have flipped a switch in my brain because on Saturday, I think I ate for England! whatever I chose to eat didn't satisfy me, I think it was because I wanted something but not sure what, so just had to try everything. However back on track again now. Well done to those who have lost or stayed the same (think damage limitation).
I have also stayed the same but I was out at the weekend with friends. I know I am eating the right things but I am probably not checking too much on portion size so I must be more careful as I'm going on holiday at the end of September and need a bit more weight off before I go.
Good luck to you all
Onwards and Downwards!!
I'll try and reply individually.....Wendilla and I are in the same boat....no will power, if it's there, it's eaten so do undertand the problem with the grandson.
Like you Owl lady I think my problem is in portion sizes. Boxtops.....why not just set aside one special day for that bacon sarnie...my day for that is Sunday and THAT is written in stone, looked forward to and each bite is enjoyed.
I honestly don't know what to say to you Oldgeezer....are you getting any exercise...I just limped in from a 10 min walk so won't be doing that again in a hurry, but I do exercises every day before breakfast, just 10 min of them but they keep the old body supple and get the system going.
Hi.

No I don't tend to exercise apart from limp into work and back again twice a day. Not sure my legs would allow it these days anyway. Even when I shop it doesn't take long before I'm wanting to sit down and rest my legs.

I occasionally think of joining a gym but I've done that in the past and not only is the cost sky high, I don't tend to get my money's worth out of it anyway.

I ought to do some, but as far as weight loss goes, you need to do lots to drop a few ounces. So I rely on limiting intake. I think I just have to stick with it, but it's proving rather discouraging at the moment. So much for, "This'll take until Xmas", or even, "This'll take a year".
Hi all, I've lost another 1lb this week :o)))
Well done Tigerblue.....what is your goal?
My goal is 9.7st so I've got another 9lbs to go. My old jeans still don't quite fit so that is my aim.
They say it's good to have a piece of clothing that you want to fit.....onwards and downwards....
Indeed it is Xstitcher. My size 10/12 jeans have been in the back of the wardrobe gathering dust for about 3 years. Might be able to dust them off next month :o)

Onwards and downwards..........
Well stayed the same again. Too much staying the same got to get motivated as I need that other stone off so I am now aiming for that before end of November.
Hi Tigger well done I have never seen size 10 for a long long time since I was in my teens I think. I am size 14 so quite happy at that cosidering I was heading for size 18 last June.
Onwards and Downwards
Morning All,

Just the same thank you very much....aargh. Like Wendilla I seem to be in a couldn't care less phase which I must shake myself out off. I don't even deserve to stay the same.
Looks like I went UP 1/8th of a lb over the week. Really not what I was hoping for as I thiought I'd been fairly good most of the week. I'd guess the bank holiday trip to the Mexican place may not have helped. Maybe I ought not have ordered the sharing nachos for us both as a starter. But to be honest, the weight was really playing UP before that point.

Ironically, on the bright side, it has gone down 1/4 lb since Monday morning, so perhaps I ought to be eating more nachos covered in chicken and cheese and chillies, not avoiding them. Clearly it is the lower calorie and lower fat meals that raise the weight.
