Afternoon!

I'm off on a big bike ride this weekend to make up for the terrible sins of:

1. Takeaway pizza
2. Pub burger
3. Beer

Anyone else repenting this weekend? It's been hard to get out in this muggy weather...

Thanks for your good wishes and support, I weigh on a Tuesday at WW so will keep looking in here for any new tips that may help
Two little tips that worked for me were:
if you want to eat more, or have a pudding, wait 20 minutes for your brain to recognise that your stomach is full. You'll find that the urge has gone
if you like chocolate, put some Curly-wurlies in the fridge. When you are going to treat yourself, cut one up (it's important to cut it) and chew. Mmmmmm
My group members love these tips, especially the second.
All tips very welcome. I keep hearing about these curlie wirlies but can't get them here in Denmark. Your 20 minute waiting period is very good. I use that myself. I usually spend the first 20 minutes after a meal on the computer and yes after that I feel more than full and the craving for more is long gone.
Thanks for the tipd I did know about the Curly-wurlies and that is my chocolate kick when I feel I need one I also find that if I write everything down that I eat also helps
Just to inform that after my first week, the ultra precise scales :-) tells me I lost 2 5/8ths lbs. But with my luck that'll be water and muscle. In the unlikely event that rate was maintained I'd need 18 more weeks; over 4 months. That seems rather a haul: but I guess I've done it before.
Welcome Owllady nice to have you aboard .You will get lots of tips here .We don't believe in Diets it is Healthy eating.Yes I always stress to write everything down as this helps to plan the next weeks meals.
Oldgeezer well done just give yourself small gaols Don't look at 4 months . Give yourself a gaol of 4 weeks and how much you would like to lose in that time .Then take it from there.
Annie I took your tip of the curly wurlys but I always break them up straight away from taking them from fridge. and they keep crispier for eating.
Like Wendilla says give yourself realistic goals and believe me when people start to tell you that they can see you are loosing weight all the hassel is worth it. I have always had "I can't believe this is really happening" feeling when I first started.
one of my favourite treats is 'frozen grapes'put a bunch in the freezer and just take out the right amount, they are like sweeties.
What fun slinkeykate. When I go back to Spain it will be grape season and I can get some that are the size of a small plum. mmmmmmm
Hi Annemollie and everyone, I reached goal weight and kept going down (another four pounds) and thought that might continue, but it didn't, I'm up to goal weight again, and hoping I will stop going up now. I will check this thread from time to time for the good tips when I need them. Good luck everyone :-)
Well done Notafish hope you manage to maintain it now.
Slinkykate yes and another thing I have done with frozen grapes is to decorate long drinks.
Sorry to loose your weekly imput but I wish you lots of luck with your lovely slim figure.
got weighed tonight and you'll never guess,i lost another four pounds this week thats 9 pounds in 2 weeks and i am not starving myself, loads of soups though,i am so happy, going to bed now, night night.
Well done you slinky.kate. What are you doing that is different from what you have done before?
Congratulations, notafish.
I'm going to go along on Tuesday but just to support a friend - no weigh in.
Can you keep us updated on how you manage to maintain?
There's always the temptation to backslide, isn't there? I have put my weekly fee aside and am going to treat myself whan it has mounted up - not much, but it's a motivation.
Incidentally, I was on holiday and my luggage weighed 14.5 kilos. It felt heavy - but I have lost more than that!!
Hi Annemollie, thank you. I reached my goal a while ago, but come on here now and again to see how everyone's doing, and for inspiration. I saw your post expressing concern about how you stop losing weight once you've reached your goal weight, (now that we're all eating healthily). I lost another few pounds after reaching my goal weight and wondered if the loss would continue, but it didn't. It's SO easy to put the weight back on. Now I'm back up to goal weight and hope I can stop, so I don't yet know the secret of maintaining. I have started swimming once a week, so hope that'll help. :-)
i am cooking everything fresh, making loads of soups, even made ice cream with low fat yoghurt and frozen cherries,it was lovely, tonight i had veg.curry.boiled rice and prawns.
I would love the recipe for your ice cream some day when you have time.
slinkykate
Thst's wonderful news (I have only just read your post). Congratulations!
Hi Slinky.kate looks like you are doing well so well done and I too would like the recipe for your icecream please.
