Hello, I am 18 years old, mesure 174 cm and weigh 50 kilos. People close to me tell me I'm anorexic but to be so don't you have to weigh less that 40 kg? I realise this question is foolish and am deeply apologetic for that.
I'm pretty sure no one will awnser but if, somewhere, someone does, I would be truly grateful

You are underweight for your height, but anorexia is about more than just weight, it is the relationship people have with food.
you're 5'7 and under 8st. you must be very slim.

so what are your eating habits?
it depends on a lot of factors most significantly how you see your own body and your relationship with food... if you think you might be please see your GP and ask to be referred to a specialist in eating disorders...I wonder if your choice of user name is a sign of a distorted body image...

Wow, that was an amazingly swift response, thank-you so much and I am so sorry to bother you and inevitably bore you with this.
Well, I eat as little as possible.
My mother forces me to eat at dinner but I can never finish my plate and I skip breakfast as often as possible. I look at normal portions on packets and divide them y two or three and then once they are prepared I divide them again.
Sorry again for boring you and being so superficial, I hate myself for that and wish I could just snap out of it but... I just can't
i was 7 st at that age and am 5'6 but could eat anything and everything. I certainly wasnt anorexic just slim.

it didnt last :(

so it seems that you do have some issues with food and eating. See if you can discuss it with your mother or perhaps your GP
so what's your long term aim?
Zeppelina...I'd say its likely you either are anorexic or heading that way...I repeat get some help

You do seem to have issues with food if you skip meals and divide portions etc. I think you're mother is concerned for you and that is why you feel she is forcing you to eat. She maybe trying to help you.

Thank-you so much for taking the time to respond, it's really lovely of you.
Zeppelina is not about body image, my name is Lexie and for some very bizare reason my nickname is Zeppelina, it has been so forever.
I couldn't say what my aim is... I just want to keep going I guess
Thank you all again
well you won't "keep going" if you don't address these issues.

Getting an external point of view is really helpful, thank-you

I don't feel I can give any advice on the eating issue but I would just like to say, stop apologising. You don't need to apologise for asking questions and seeking advice on here. You seem very low on self esteem but you don't apologise when you haven't done anything wrong. :o)

Try and be reasonnable I guess...
I really don't think I have a problem as I am no way near skinny, seriously, I've seen photos of people with eating disorders and I'm not like that, I'm not skinny, but I guess something isn't right so I'll have to think about doing something
it completely depends on how you see food, and how this affects your eating habits.
Weight isn't always dependant on the food you eat. For example, I know a girl who eats like a horse and she is the tiniest person I've ever met. Sometimes it's just natural.
