Right...start again.

My wife is having an affair and she has admitted that he is the one for her, but does not want to breakup the marriage.

My wife is well dressed, good cook and keeps a good home, we have a high standard of living and I do not want to upset the applecart.

Do I ask for a divorce?
..................and your point is ?
You've just said you dont want to upset the applecart so you've answered your own question

so why isn't she with him?
It's an individual choice.
why would she not want to break up the marriage ? why wouldn't you?
Sqad - You have posted this as a sort of follow-on from Jessy pie's thread.............

I was asking why.

Although I suspect you are attempting to show us the other side of the coin, I believe that your comments on the other thread are self-expanatory of your position.
Question Author
sara.....because I supply the material things in life that she requires and he supplies her emotional needs.

Question Author
jack......;-)
isn't that ever so slightly emasculating ?
I'd say, what a shame she values material things over what really matters.

very sad.

to answer your question, why ask for a divorce when the marriage means so little to both of you? you may as well (kind of) stay together.

"to answer your question, why ask for a divorce when the marriage means so little to both of you? you may as well (kind of) stay together."

and so many do.

P.S I didn't ask "why ask for a divorce" I asked "do i ask for a divorce?"
no, of course not. you're both "happy", aren't you?
you could ask for a divorce, or you could insist she ends her relationship with the man and then make attempts to fulfil her emotional needs yourself.
lol!
