My boyfriend thinks it's hilarious that I didn't realise that an Ox was a rather large cow like animal... but more like a fox like animal!! Fox /Ox you can see where I was coming from!!!! Anyone else??

It's not a 'cow like animal' it's a breed/s of cattle, and typically only males are used as 'ox'. Wikipedia will explain better than me!
