Hello!

I've called my local doctors' surgery asking for my results of a urine test I had just before Christmas. The receptionist said she had them, but that a doctor needs to call me back about them.

Does this mean there's something wrong? Or do they have to do it this way even if everything's 'all-clear'?

Am I worrying myself about nothing? :oS

Thanks in advance, c~s.

Don' panic - it's standard practice.

You may have questions which only your doctor is qualified to answer, so he will put your mind at rest.

Perhaps the nurse should have told you that this is standard proceedure, and stopped you freaking out!
It is probably just that the sample was 37.5% proof sue, don't worry, just put the voddy away!!! : )

Thank you so much, andy! They've literally this second just called and told me it was a simple infection as they'd suspected and nothing else. Thanks again, I'm very grateful!

pmsl, Dot! :-)
please dont flap, these days they seem to want you to come back in for your results,i had a blood test a while back and they said the same to me i was a nervous reck got there and it wasnt bad news take care xx
Hi curly - so glad it was as i suspected.

Like i said, the Doctor usually advises you of results as a mater of course, so that if there is anything to discuss, you can ask him or her there and then - saves time and worry.

It would be better if the nurse said "The doctor will discuss your test results, but don't read anything into that, it is standard proceedure for all test results of this type."

But obviously she didn't!

Still, all's well, and all that.

Have a great 2007!
