I'm a bit confused with a man

I met this guy two years ago, we met in a bar and he asked me for my number. We then went out for a few drinks. It was a great night and we had a lot in common. Anyway, then we met up last week. He initiated the meeting up. i was fairly nervous but we got on really well. He remembered a lot of my interests and we spoke a lot about my work, he seemed genuinely interested in my life. He told me a lot about his life and his work, travels, etc. In the middle of the conversation he said that he went to a function with this girl, but then quickly changed the conversation. I don't know whether it was to get me jealous, but its definitely got me thinking...maybe just to show that he was also busy during the past year. When we walked to the bus stop he asked me if I wanted to go for one more drink, I said no because it was the last bus. When I got on the bus he said take care, and to let him know I got home ok. He didn't say "see you soon" or to arrange another meeting. What do you think?

I don't want to ask him out!

Do I just wait for him to contact me...

I'd appreciate any useful feedback/comments/experiences

As a bloke, I like common sense.

From my point of view, I would say that because he shows that he cares by asking you to text him when you get in etc.

Give it a couple of days and send him a message saying something along the lines of "Had a great night last week, let me know when your next available and we'll do it again."

Show him that your interested but don't fawn over him, its a massive turn off!
dont try to over analyse everything, not every sentence holds a secret code. take it easy and just see what happens. good luck x

The only thing is I don't want to appear desperate...
If you do as wizard suggested you won't appear desperate. However if he doesn't reply or gives you the brush off, leave it at that (otherwise you will appear desperate). Good luck!

Sounds a bit weird, but I'd like him to make a move...

Or shall I just contact him?

We met last Thursday, maybe he'll think I'm being too keen!

I couldn't go for the other drink because my bus had turned up...

What do people think of that bit about the girl he mentioned...
Maybe he mentioned it because he didn;t think it was important and he changed the subject because:

1. He didn't want to cause offence,

or

2. He didn't want to make it look like he just see's random lasses.

That's what I would imagine!!
