My man keeps saying that we could do something during the day then when the days comes I hear nothing until later at night when I end up going down to the pub as this is where his mum works and she owns it, just seems like we're hiding away in the pub all the time??

If he isn't being pro-active make suggestions, get agreement, sort something out yourself for the two of you. If you don't want that, maybe you need to look for a more compatible partner.
