I have soya milk instead of normal milk, as I'm asthmatic and have eczema. I was wondering whether there is any issue with this, regarding calcium intake? Also can people be intolerant/allergic to soya milk? I have so many medical problems I'm now starting to look at what's under my nose to try and find a reason for them all :\

try goats milk, brilliant for eczema
I suppose you could be allergic/intolerant to anything but less people are intolerant to soya milk than the lactose that is in cow`s milk. People in the Far East are virtually brought up on soya milk so it can`t be too bad. You can get rice milk too I`m not sure about here but in the US you can get almond milk. That`s nicer than soya milk in my opinion.
A dietician treating my eldest daughter told me that roughly a third of people with cows milk allergy also can't tolerate soya. but there are plenty of alternatives as mentioned by 4get and 237SJ. Allergies are different to intolerances - my daughter is allergic to cows milk protien which is different from being lactose intolerant. If you're trying to completely eliminate cows milk from your diet, look very closely at food labels it's in all sorts of things that most people don't realise eg. processed ham!

Calcium can be found in lots of other foods eg. leafy green vegetables (google for a list)
