?
Dris, I think this is a regular's backup name, and a serious question.

Sorry Mike, I can't answer your question.

Thanks Karen... you are correct.
This is a question for the patient's consultant. It is impossible and wrong to guess without knowing the background and the facts.
I can't answer your question either but have found the Macmillan site very helpful in the past.

Good grief Dris!!

Sorry Mike cannot help you.
ooops -my apologies :(
In all fairness, Dris, one shouldn't choose an offensive username if they wish to ask serious questions.
What Mamya have i done wrong????
Sorry Mike -i have apologised.Ive seen this name used in jest before.Perhaps a more apt undercover name and avatar wouldnt detract.

I agree HC... I forget that both chuck and mike are actually offensive.

It is a serious question with regards to my father.
Jeez.I dont find you offensive and im not insensitive. I thought it was joke without reading the Q.Im sorry for your Dad.I hope someone can help you out.
Well in truth I saw the question and knew it looked serious, did not immediately check the name. Hope you get some answers Mike, you need to speak to the professionals really.

I wish your father well.
Chuck - why not in your normal name?

I'm not medical...and I fret...but I'd be concerned about anything 'chronic'

I don't know what to say but...sorry, It's worrying times xx
Well I hope there is good news for you and your father, Mike.
As already suggested, MacMillan's can be very helpful and informative.
Apology for getting pulled up accepted Mamya.
Apology Dris?? get out of here, I refuse to argue on a thread involved with such a serious issue, address one to me in CB if you wish.
This might give you some info but not very detailed I'm afraid.

Sorry to hear about your dad, Mike. My cousin was 15 when he was diagnosed with this condition. Sad to say he didn't last long. That was 20 years ago. Today there's much progress in medicine. Hopefully there will be something out there which would help your dad. All the best.
Chuck, if you go on to the Forum part of the Macmillan site you can speak to people who have actually suffered with the same problem. I found this very helpful when my husband was diagnosed last year. I hope your father does as well as he has, thankfully.
