I've been trying to get hold of body art quality henna for some time. I am looking for pure 100% henna (ie Lawsonia Inermis) and have only found it online. I'll need a large quantity, relatively cheaply.

I know it must be sold somewhere in Manchester! I've had a look in some shops in Rusholme but as of yet had no luck.

Are there really no shops in Rusholme?  there is a beauty parlour on the main road which I know does henna painting, because they advertise it in the window.  It should be worth asking there.  Also, what about the big African beauty supply place on Oldham Street?
Why don't you contact Lawsonia and see if they supply to anyone locally.

Is Lawsonia a brand name? I have googled for it but had no hits for a specific brand called Lawsonia.

When I referred to Lawsonia Inermis above I meant this in the context of it being the Latin name for Henna.

Nicola - I hadn't wanted to go to a parlour yet as I want to buy in bulk, and the African beauty shop doesn't stock it. However, I've been told that one of the supermarkets I tried yesterday does have it, and it must've just been out of stock.

Sorry I don't know enough about Henna and assumed you meant a brand name.  What about...
