Aspirin helps pain in leg

Hoping someone has experience of this. I get severe aching pain in my thigh and had tried all sorts of painkillers eg ibuprofen and paracetemol but nothing helped. A paramedic said to try taking one aspirin a day and see if that helped. Well, it did - the pain has completely gone. I stopped taking them to see if it would come back, and it did, big time, so I started taking them again. Can anyone tell me why this has happened, and should I see my doctor about it?
Thanks

Have you any swelling or redness?
Think Squad can answer this. Doesn't Asprin thin the blood?
Aspirin makes the blood less sticky rather than thinning it. I would go to the doctor. I was just wondering about DVT but I`m not an expert.
Just make sure you do not take aspirin on an empty stomach.

Thanks, folks. I did a google on it, and found descriptions of vascular disorder, which I have no other symptoms of - no redness swelling, shininess or dry skin. Just the achey pain. I just wondered if aspirin as a painkiller has some sort of property that the other painkillers don't have, which acted on my leg pain. Think I will mention it to the GP anyway. Thanks for the advice about taking aspirin on an empty stomach. All answers much appreciated.
This does sound vascular BUT........is your leg white either on the thigh or in the leg?

Can you walk far without getting the pain either in your thigh or in your calf?

Is the thigh pain associated with movement and how long have you had it?

What medications are you on ?statins?

Aspirin reduces the stickiness of the platelets which form the clotting mechanism, hence thinning the blood.
If you are taking asprin daily it should only be 75 mg.
I would suggest that the soluble aspirin are better for the stomach than the solid kind which are swallowed with a drink.

The thigh pain comes on most after I have been standing or walking around for long periods (I am a teacher so this is unavoidable). I have never had a problem with blood pressure (except when pregnant many years ago), and I am not on any medication - no statins. Had cholesterol and diabetes check through work a few months ago and all was fine. Still the thigh pain persisted, but aspirin seems to have cured it. Thanks for all the answers - I am def going to see the GP, in case there is something else that needs to be done.
chanel......thanks for your feedback.....it sounds muscular and no big deal.
