I keep finding myself grinding my teeth all the time and I'm not sure why. I want to stop doing it. It's not a nice habit and I'm worried that it may harm my teeth in the long run. It's something I've done for years not really noticing often, but over the past few months I've caught myself doing it more often. Is there any way to alleviate this habit?

My sister suffers from this and she finds it gets worse when she's stress, rather like when other people twist their fingers together, or clench their fists but you're clenching your jaw instead. Have you been under stress recently - maybe unconsciously? x x x
My daughter was given a mouth guard by the dentist to stop this problem.  It was made to fit her mouth and is of soft plastic.  She wears it at night and then cleans it with steradent in the morning.  It seems to have alleviated the problem a lot!
Mobius its known as " Bruxism". Its usually caused by stress or just habit. I had a mouthguard fitted.
Bruxism, or teeth grinding, is a serious condition that can permanently harm your teeth.  Please discuss this with your dentist.  Sometimes the condition can be treated with muscle relaxants, sometimes with a mouth guard.  Good luck to you!
