After a wasteful afternoon's work discussing claims to fame all  I could come up with was that I once gave Van  Morrison a cup of tea.  Lame I know.  Let's have yours then, mundane or not.

Strangely enough this is the question of the week on B3ta. As I posted there - When Siouxsie and the Banshees split in 1979, two members of the group stormed out of a record signing and asked some loitering youths where they could get a taxi. I told them.........I have others, you know.
I helped find Alex Higgins cat in 1980.  He gave an autograph and 50p, in the days when pocket money was 10p a week.  Riches beyond the dreams of averice!
Served Paul, Mary and Stella MacCartney quite often in the Chemists where I worked ca 20 years ago.  They were extremely nice, especially Mary.  To be fair, they holiday there every summer,  so most of the peninsula have met them at some time.
I gave Diana Dors a lift in my first Rolls Royce many years ago.

I served drinks in a pub for various members of Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet.  I was 21 and had it been 5 or 6 years earlier (aside from the fact it would have been illegal to be working behind the bar) I would probably have fainted / dropped the glasses / been able to speak.

Not fair In a Pickle, we're all so nosey at AB, reckon you need to spill a little more......
Once told Christopher Quinten who played Brian Tilsley in Corrie that I thought he was a prat when he "approached" me in a nightclub !

My Dad declared open the first McDonalds in the UK in 1974. (He had one bite of a burger and never touched another for the rest of his life!!)

My Mum started (as in waved the flag) the first London Marathon in 1981.

I won Test the Nation:The Great Briish Quiz last March.

Does this mean the whole family is nearly famous? (No rude answers please!!)

My mum is Jackie Trent's god mother. She (Jsckie Trent, not my mum!) was a Number One pop star in the 60's, and she wrote the lyrics to the 'Neighbours' theme tune. Her pseudonym was created because she comes from Stoke - her real name is Yvonne Burgess...Jackie Trent that is, my mum's name is Dorothy ...Hughes.

I have a photo of Bernard Manning with his arm around me - in Manchester of course! Talk about little & large - bless him.

We once stood next to Tommy Cooper in a London pub - he was a right miserable looking git!

God rest your cotton sox Tommy!
I had a cousin in Los Angles who's father was on the large side. When the actor Dan Blocker, who played Hoss Cartwright died, they auctioned off his personal effects. My uncle bade(?)  for, and purchased Hoss's specially made, extra large toilet. I have used it...........respect, methinx.

Hoss from Bonanza that is, for those of you who can't read my mind.

Cathy "used to present Scrapheap Challenge" Rogers held a door open for me once.
I have spoken and chatted to Donny Osmond, the Foo fighters, Tony Lewis, Wasim Akram (all assortment of cricketers past and present), Roger Daltrey, dame Kiri, fatboy slim to name a memorable few at various airports around the UK.
Dom Tuk - you have met Dave Grohl? SERIOUS respect...........

I met Jimi hendrix in a bog in Bournemouth1969 just about to go on stage!!Me and jimi were having a  **** and all these chicks come running in and jimi said ,chicks man !!this is true!1What a brill concert.love Vinny.

Diddy, although i knew who the Foo fighters are I did not recognise them...(they are not rockers at airports and usually dressed casually and I have left my head banging, long haired rock days behind me)......but when i asked what they do...i had a brief chat. Unfortunately for me although i recognise many celebreties i cant usually remember their names....and most of them dont like to chat so i leave well alone......and asking for autographs is unprofessional. Some of the regular travellers do recognise you and stop for a chat.....Alvin Hall the finance guru always stops for a chat with me.
